been living and shows you what I got up to while living there, beginning
in the 60ties when I learned to walk and talk

I grew up learning
Swedish and English and showed an early creative side remodeling
our parents car or furniture with hammer and colorful paintings.
This gave me the knowledge that many times, art is not appreciated
at first or even second site but, you as an artist can always remember
the fun and enjoyment you felt while doing it, letting the criticism
direct you to a field where both you and your environment can find
joy in your work.
A way of doing this for me was with the MUSIC and, we always
had plenty of instruments at home letting me experiment and improvise
something, that always remained easier for me then to get locked
up by notes. |

In Basel they have three nice days a year and that's during "Fasnacht"
a carnival. This probably thought my brother, sister and me the
importance of having fun and inspired us to attend and organise
all the masquerades through the years. And, we learned "baseldytsch"
= Swiss German - about as useful as the Fasnacht.
I dreamed of becoming Jimi Hendrix or a Beatle so, my parents
got me a banjo ???
After some diplomatic work I managed to convince them to make
it an electric guitar and with friends I tried founding a hardrock
band that died when I moved back to Sweden.
Songs:
Moonlight Rock
Out in the battle

After high school, choosing between a
career as a photographer or following my music dream I took up music
studies in Sweden at a boarding school on a terrific Island called
"Dalaro", outside Stockholm.
I already knew that classical music was not my way and, Stockholm
was where I found different rock and reggae groups to play with.
In case I would write a great hit one day I went back to Switzerland
to study economics at the
St Gallen High School during two years. This was followed by working
as a photographer and, my serious life as a skier started...
Recorded "Tropical Dream"

I worked with Marketing for "Davidoff!", letting me
see what a normal job would be like with the nice feature of a
regular income.
Well, it was followed by founding:
Du Gay's Wonderful World of Art & Music
and, that never stopped.
Produced the record:
Let the Sun Shine on Me
At this time I also had the idea of
"The Man"
and my "art brut" began by putting him into different
situations and movements.

ski and, probably still is.
Moved to Spain with Graham and Leila and a lot of friends who
came to visit us...
In painting this was my "blue" period but, still "The
Man" is what I really hang on to without any changes.
Renovating old mansion in France
Film "Ski Extreme"
With Graham and a lot of crazy skiers I produced an early "Ski
Extreme" movie and composed the sound track.
Back in Switzerland and Verbier Leila and I founded Graphic
Concept.

"Rockgarden"
Back to Rock & Roll with my new band. It's name is based on
the fact that it's members are all addicted to music and skiing
so my brother Graham suggested we should use the name we use for
one of our off pist runs. |
